For some reason some of the sprites are appearing as giant black squares, which impedes vision enough to render the game unplayable

THIS IS SO GOOD. I absolutely loved it. Player movement was excellent, art style is super sophisticated... My only feedback:

- please make a map (if you make this a longer game)

- the combat doesn't feel quite crunchy enough, I'd make a more percussive sound for the hits, can still be subtle but just to feel more impactful

Finally, PLEASE MAKE THIS A FULL GAME! :D
